Our Two Time! program offers children, along with their parents, an introduction to the classroom environment with an abbreviated schedule from October through May. The 1.5-hour curriculum focuses on building the social and emotional skills of children through play, under the guidance of a nurturing certified Master's level teacher.

Some of the activities the children participate in are the exploration of manipulatives, sand/water table, clay/playdoh, painting, puzzles, and arts & crafts. Music & Movement, Gym, Snack and Story Times are also included in the session. The goal of the program is to help children develop excitement and enthusiasm for school in a safe and comfortable environment and to prepare them for the transition from home to school. It is also a great way for parents to meet and share experiences and ideas.

This program is designed to specifically meet the developmental needs of 3-year-old children. The goal of the program is for children to build independence in a safe setting, where their parents are a welcomed and involved part of the program. We focus on developing the children’s social and emotional skills through the use of thematic units, music and movement, manipulative use, creative art, dramatic play, block and Lego building, sand and water play, and painting. We plan open-ended crafts that allow children to explore materials and create their own masterpieces. Each class session includes some energizing activities in the gym.

We do not introduce the letters of the alphabet because research indicates that most children are simply not ready at this stage to associate an abstract letter to a sound. At this stage, children need to touch, taste, smell and hear in order to learn concepts. Our activities contain all of these methods of learning and our children thrive on it and really develop a life-long love of learning.

These classes are taught by a certified Master’s level teacher. These classes are offered at the following times:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Our 4-year-old program provides creative and open-ended experiences for the children. The goal of the program is to help the children become independent learners as they build their cognitive and socialization skills.

The children are introduced to each letter of the alphabet through a variety of means including picture-word association and show and tell of items, which they have collected from home. They review Nursery Rhymes by acting them out and making related crafts. Thematic units are also used to immerse the children in the topic being covered, allowing them to experience the unit using all of their senses. The curriculum is rounded out with cooking experiences, field trips and energizing activities in the gym.

A certified teacher who holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education teaches the Pre-K session. These classes are offered at the following times:

Monday and Friday: 9:15 a.m.–11:45 a.m.
Monday and Friday: 12:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Classes run from September – June                                   Registration Fee: $100.00

Our Kinderfun program is designed to prepare children for a full day, first-grade environment. The program is specifically coordinated with the FPBSD Kindergarten curriculum. Since the Kindergarten program at the public school is a half-day session, our goal is to offer activities that time does not allow for in Kindergarten. The children participate in centers of science, reading, writing, math, arts and crafts and author studies. Each class session also includes some energizing activities in the gym.

In addition to the above centers, the program immerses the children in the letter of the week program in a fun and exciting way. We compliment the public school district’s letter program by teaching the letters on a similar schedule. All activities focus on the letter being studied that week including journal writing, arts and crafts, story time and gym activities.

The Kinderfun program is an enhanced program to the local school district. For this reason, we do not require committee or Board participation for parents of these children. However, parents are most welcome to become as involved with the school as they choose.

A certified teacher who holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Special Education teaches the Kinderfun sessions. The classes are offered at the following times:

Tuesday, Thursday: 8:45 a.m.-11:15 a.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 12:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Classes run from September – June                                  Registration Fee: $100.00

** Children must be 5 years old by December 1, 2011 in order to register for this class.
